A CAPRICORN’S DAY
Now, if you read my first blog post, you know I just celebrated my birthday on January 10th (shoutout to all my Capricorns)! I tend to get a little emotional (probably an understatement) around my birthday and am just not a fan of planning things for myself, so this post is purely to give a big THANK YOU to my boyfriend Mike and the rest of my family for making my birthday (week) so special. Now let’s backtrack to the Wednesday before my birthday… I knew we were going out for an early birthday dinner, but I couldn’t figure out what to wear since no once was giving me any information! It was the coldest day of the season thus far (as my birthday always is) so I decided to relax, enjoy the night, and just throw on some of my favorite accessories to fulfill the birthday girl look, first to mind came my spankin new Tom Ford pink suede pumps (donned those for the first time, yay!) and paired them with a signature Valentino rockstud shoulder bag (perfection!). Mike, along with my sister Melissa and rest of family, planned a surprise intimate dinner with my family at one of the best Italian restaurants in the area, Patrizia’s. Not only did they surprise me, but I was escorted in with my love♥, surprised to see my whole family, greeted with a crown & a backdrop of a frame full of beautiful memories, oh & and selfie-stick courtesy of my little sister Michelle (michie), what
else could a principessa ask for on her birthday?! It was perfect! We dined family style on everything you can think of, literally everything, I don’t know where to start but the food was excellent and even though it was our first time there I will most certainly be back there soon! Our meal was wrapped up with a beautiful and delicious cannoli cream filled cake, made by none other than the Cake Boss himself from Carlo’s Bakery! Patrizia’s, thank you for having us!
The following nights Mike & I had our own little tour of our top Italian spots around town to continue the celebration and most of all feast…
at Osteria we dined privately on our favorite app, pulpo (octopus) and enjoyed one of the best surf & turf dinners I’ve had in a very, very long time, along with a prosecco cheers and some delicious vino courtesy of the lovely owners who we ended up chatting with throughout the night, saluté!
The final birthday dinner took place at Undici, another one of New Jersey’s best (and our favorite) Italian spots…
At Undici, I fully indulged in some of my favorite desserts, chocolate polenta (I wish I could share the recipe but have yet to accomplish getting it), and fresh homemade (still slightly soft) biscotti with cannoli cream & nutella for dipping! Oh and a lovely after dinner coffee drink splashed with some amaretto, yum!
Thank you to Michael, Mom & Dad, Melissa, James, Nicholas & Luca, Michelle and all the rest of my family (aunts, uncles, grandparents and more!) that made my birthday so special!!! My life wouldn’t be complete without each of you and I’m grateful to be surrounded with so much love and positivity in this new chapter in my life!
Love to you all!
I hope you guys enjoyed some of the photos I shared, if you have any questions about the restaurants mentioned please let me know in the comments! And a very Happy Birthday to all the January babies out there!!! Caps are some of the best people around!
Checkout some of the pics below showing some puppy love from Moses (our golden pup), a few of my favorite gifts (I am obsessed with hammered copper!) and the beautiful pearls from my parents & last but not least, my Dad calling me ‘one of his bae’s’ in my birthday card – priceless!
