GOLDEN GLOBES 2015
I know this is a little late, but I’ve already started receiving complaints about there being nothing in my red carpet & runway recaps! Ah, we just launched guys, bear with me, I didn’t want to back track, I wanted to do this in real time. So while I am still recapping last nights SAG looks, I will share with you what my top picks were at the Golden Globes a few weeks ago. I hope you enjoyed these amazing looks as much as I did! Zuhair Murad is seriously one of my obsessions as of late, I need to get my hands on one of his incredible gowns (although I’ll need to find somewhere to wear one to first)!
Zuhair Murad can do no wrong in my book, and neither can Chrissy Teigen, my number one pick of the night, together they are perfection! The main reason why I have got to give it to Chrissy is how effortlessly she pulls off the look, she is radiant and clearly confident, and that my friends, is how you pull off a successful red carpet look, confidence. Well, that and being a sports illustrated model, but you know what I’m saying. Zuhair definitely has a specific hard to miss style within his creations, but each dress is so intricate and beautifully drapes a woman’s natural body, I don’t blame him for sticking with what he does best.
I have to be honest here, I can’t doubt that this look didn’t bring back memories of Beyoncé flawlessly rocking a Zuhair gown in white lace last year at the Grammy’s. To add to that, Camila Alves (Matthew McConaughey’s equally beautiful other half) donned this Zuhair piece to the Emmy’s last year. I’m sorry, I couldn’t cut out McConaughey for obvious reasons, hope you understand. With all that being said, Zuhair continues to reign on the red carpet in 2015 with the body hugging, mermaid-esque lace details, and in my opinion, no one has been delivering gowns in the white (off white/pearl/ivory whatever you want to call it) color-way family this beautifully while keeping your mind out of the wedding world. Bravo, Zuhair you did it again.
Now I was going to talk about my next top pick, which is Allison Williams in Armani Privé, but since we’re on the subject, let’s just give Zuhair all the credit he very well deserves. Jennifer Lopez just does it for me (and probably all of you, men & women included)! Every. Single. Time. She is flawless and getting better with age, it’s undeniable. I tend to personally love over the top glam looks and that is exactly what Zuhair did here by adding a draped cape over her perfectly shaped body. She pulls off the bronzed glam goddess look every time, and even though she is showing both cleavage and leg, she managed to do so in a classy way that only J.Lo can. Incredible.
Back to the beautiful Allison Williams, we all love her on GIRLS, but I have to say, this dress catapulted her in the fashion world. She didn’t go for the typical body/booty hugging designer gown (a la Zuhair inspired), instead she took the high fashion-chic road. This Armani Privé gown weighed in around 45 pounds, which on her frame, is A LOT. It’s hard for me to imagine how she pulled off a starlet smile without breaking out into a sweat (at least to our knowledge/without us noticing) while walking down the carpet for countless photos. Brava bellissima!
Best Actress nominee Reese Witherspoon, (one of my all time personal favorites), stunned in a shimmering Calvin Klein Collection gown. Looking the hollywood part and statuesque herself, she brought it! Always stunning, always chic, nothing but class! A true hollywood golden girl, talented and beautiful. This gown is truly timeless in my opinion, as is Reese.
Brava ladies! Now, let me wrap up last night’s looks and I’ll be posting them shortly! Hope this holds you over until then.
