#MBC: EPISODE 3 RECAP & LOOKS
Now is when all the episodes really start to blend into multiples days…
episode 3 opens up with aubrey & travis still arguing over the ‘friend/foot-gate’ incident that was discussed previously, but post death wish drill, which explains why trav still had his faux black eye on! We didn’t even end that night yet and they were at it again! As funny as they both are, it’s sad to see them argue in circles over the same thing. Mike and I had gotten very close with them both and hope they could move past any issues they have. We still love Aubs & Travis, together or apart (we never know which it is anyway)!
sidenote: how beautiful is this house? over 20,000 sq feet, nestled up high in Beverly Hills with its own vineyard, lemon trees, horse stable, lake and more! That kind of explains why we didn’t always know what was going on in the house, half the time we were trying to find each other if we weren’t in the middle of an exercise or evaluation!
On to final evaluations from the death wish drill, yay – we made it on the BREAKTHROUGH side again!!! That’s three times in a row! WeTv did another recap on all the couples after this episode to give a little state of the union regarding all couples in the house. It was nice to see Mike be able to break down some walls and speak from his heart during that drill and I’m glad that the directors noticed how much he was trying to put into this bootcamp. Snaps BAE!
BREAKTHROUGHS (from WEtv) “Lauren and Mike are making excellent progress. They’re learning to speak from the heart and are truly leaning on each other through this process. Mike has two personas – there’s Mike and there’s “The Situation.” Jim and Elizabeth were proud to meet Mike and Lauren seems really happy that he’s focusing on his true self rather than his reality tv persona.”
Elizabeth says she likes Mike, not the situation, YAS! WE LOVE MICHAEL!!!!!! And so will all of you when they finally see him for who he really is; a gentle, loving and giving soul who’s core values revolve around love and family, and he just is the best!
How cute are jeff & jordan? Even though they didn’t fully connect with that specific drill, they are still sweet as pie and we just love them!
Travis and aubs break the pack the same night they made it by talking about the same argument, grr. I’m mad at you both for this one, haha, pull it together guys!
Just before we start the next morning’s drill, we find out Tami is sick in bed and might be pregs – WE ALL had NO idea this was going on upstairs (just thought she was sick with a cold)! Now this was all filmed a while ago, so bring it back to real time life, they actually are expecting now!!! (this is not a spoiler alert if you follow anything about the show, it’s been blasted all over social media and WeTV so chill before you jump all over me). MAJOR CONGRATS TO THE BEAUTIFUL COUPLE – we love you Tami & Reggie ~ sending lots of blessings your way to your growing family!
sidenote: out of this monstrous house full of bedrooms why was Tami the only one with a full length mirror?! Oh the struggles in the morning, I’d be standing on top of my bathtub everyday to see what I looked like haha!
parent trap exercise
One of my favorite things to say to put things in perspective for myself, and to others:
‘IT’S ALL RELATIVE’
Everything! Whatever it is that you are going through and feeling, it is all relative. What you feel deemed to be acceptable, not ok, upsetting, happy, devastating whatever it may be, it’s all a result of what we had been around since we entered this world up until today’s date – it is all relative people! And that’s basically what this drill was touching upon, but more specifically about our relationships with our parents and their effect on our adult selves, the good and the bad (this is a very tricky topic, but this is just touching the surface).
Mike and I swapped with Hank and Kendra for this drill, which happened to be a good fit as Kendra and Mike were able to open up to each other and relate on a few things they have been through in their very public lives. By doing these activities with someone different than our significant other, we were forced to be open, honest and have a fresh new perspective and face to tell it to. Hank comes from a wonderful family, and I could see how much his parents mean to him and the values they instilled in him as a child. I had similar experiences, speaking generally, we obviously didn’t get too deep into everything, but I really can’t say anything bad about either of my parents…sure they’re not perfect, but they damn sure did their best every single day of my life to shape me into the person I am today. That doesn’t mean it was pleasantville over at our house, but I did have a great childhood overall and I am blessed to have parents who are still here and together setting examples of what love is, even at this age. I did inherit my dads hot-headed Italian temper (it eases over the years, luckily!) and my moms emotional side, what a combo right?! What can i say, it’s in my genes! All joking aside, it was nice to be sitting across from Hank during this exercise and hearing the unconditional love he has for his family. I could relate 🙂
SCANDALOUS audiotape time, here we go! When Kendra got a call about the tape with Hank, we had no idea what was going on. Fact, we don’t have cell phones while filming, we were given one of ours in the middle of the day from the production crew to see what was going on, and I guess to explain why we were all waiting around for hours to begin another intense day of bootcamp….so first off, to clear the air, none of us were digging, we were told something happened and given a phone to look it up and hear for ourselves.
Aubrey made a joke about seeing everyones vagina spread open by now (in the press), Travis sarcastically replied ‘we did?!’ , Mike and I just cracked up and hoped those two didn’t go at it again, which they didn’t! Bravo! Now bring out the snacks for this tea time, we literally had nothing to do for HOURS but to sit in that house!
Anyway, this Kendra/Hank phone scandal played out the entire day, hence us all sitting around doing nothing but eating and waiting, and hearing the occasional screaming obscenities going on outside the house. This goes on for the rest of this entire episode, and much throughout the season, but especially this day – it was a long one.
Like I said, we had no idea what was going on – so when Aubrey found Kendra alone in the living room area upset, she was just trying to comfort her and be there for her – no one was prying. At least I can speak directly for myself and say I definitely wasn’t, I only walked over with the girls to show overall support from the house and representing Mike and I by being there for her and Hank. In hindsight, now that we can see what was happening in that actual moment, I would’ve definitely left her alone with her thoughts and relaxed with the guys & Jordan (smartiepants!) outside on the lounge chairs! I just sat there anyway, it wasn’t my place to say anything and to be honest, I don’t really care what goes on in other peoples relationships. Kendra and Hank were sweet to Mike and I during our time at bootcamp and thats all I really care about. We wish them both the best and know that they are great people and parents to their little ones.
Now, on to the fun part! Here are the details on my looks throughout this episode, again my apologies it things are sold out or hard to find! If anything wasn’t available I linked similar items available now in the slideshow below! Lucky for you, some exact items are on sale NOW! I also linked alternatives as I often wear high-low looks. I added in some reasonably priced, very similar shoes if you aren’t able to get the Jimmy Choos (although they’re on sale too!), but want the same look! This episode happened over a couple of days so I will recap the final look next week since it will be in most of that episode (which was the dark skinny denim and forrest green top)! Checkout the slideshow at the bottom of this post to shop all the details!
